Newton National team started out in the middle 70's fishing the winter leagues in the north west and cheshire,the national team entering the NFA national competion in 1986 in Div 4 and with in 2 years winning promotion to Div 3 in 1988 ,1989 promoted to Div 2 ,1990 promoted to Div 1 and T Flannery winning the individual gold in 2000 on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near the Farmers Arms Pub Gorse lane Burscough ,the team have won sections in Div 3 and Div 4 ,below is the history of Newton AA National Team results in the NFA Nationals
